This policy describes data handling in the JassMind app and this website. It is not a request for consent.

Privacy at a glance
JassMind has no user account, built-in usage analytics, session recording, advertising trackers or automatic crash reporting. We receive no records from the app of which features you use or what you play and write. Your game data stays on your device.
Internet connections occur during optional model downloads, when you choose to open the report form or external links, and when you contact us by email. The respective providers may receive connection data and the content you send. Data processing by stores and operating systems is described separately below.
1. Data on your device
JassMind requires no account. Card images, recognised cards, calculations and AI explanations are processed on your device. During normal use, the app does not upload these contents to our servers or model providers. Voluntary reports of AI explanations are described below.
If you voluntarily report an AI explanation, the app opens Microsoft Forms inside the app. Microsoft receives form responses and technical connection data. A prefilled explanation is transferred to Microsoft when the form opens; other answers when you submit. We use reports to review and improve AI outputs and receive them via report [at] jassmind [dot] ch. Photos, your hand, game history and names are not automatically attached. Avoid personal information in the form. Form and email data are retained as needed to handle the report and meet legal obligations. Processing also depends on Microsoft privacy terms and our Microsoft 365 settings.
For Microsoft services, the Microsoft Privacy Statement identifies Microsoft Ireland Operations Limited (Ireland) and Microsoft Corporation (United States). Microsoft describes transfers to the United States and safeguards such as standard contractual clauses and the Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. The storage location of form responses also depends on the region of our Microsoft 365 account.

The camera is used for scanning with your operating-system permission. Alternatively, enter cards manually or select individual photos using the system picker. Broad photo-library access is not required.
Saved hands, games, player and team names you enter, and settings are kept in private app storage. Round history stores card data, not photos. Temporary image copies may remain in the app cache. Original photos in your library remain under your control.
Quiz progress, saved final results and name suggestions also stay in private app storage. Game statistics are calculated from locally saved games and final results. Chat questions and answers are processed on the device and are not sent to an inference server. The conversation stays only in memory and can be cleared in the chat.
To select and reliably run the local AI model, the app reads technical device characteristics such as model, operating system, RAM and available storage. Suitable runtime settings, loading failures and performance measurements are stored locally. This information is not sent to us as telemetry.
The app and website use no usage analytics or advertising trackers.
The Microsoft Forms report form you choose to open is an external service. Microsoft may use its own cookies and browser storage within it. Removing the former JassMind analytics does not disable these. The app does not connect to Microsoft Forms unless you open the form.
2. Optional model downloads
Before downloading a model, the app shows its provider, size and licence information and waits for your confirmation. Models are downloaded from Hugging Face (huggingface.co) and its delivery providers over HTTPS. These services receive your IP address, requested file path and technical connection details. Card images and game history are not included. Mobile data charges may apply.
According to its privacy policy, Hugging Face, Inc. and its servers are located in the United States. The provider lists additional processing locations for its service providers, including France. Its policy describes security measures, retention based on purpose and legal obligations, and deletion requests to privacy [at] huggingface [dot] co. We receive no card images or chat content through the download.
Analysis and optional text explanations then run offline. Recommendations may be incorrect and do not guarantee success.
3. Website and contact
When you visit this website or external links, the respective operators receive technical connection data, such as IP address, time and requested page. Our hosting serves to deliver and secure the website. The website only stores your language choice locally under jassmind-language. Fonts are loaded from this website. There is no usage analytics or advertising.
Clarity cookies set during an earlier visit and the previous analytics choice are removed when the current website loads, where the browser allows this. Data already sent to Microsoft is not automatically deleted by this change. For privacy and deletion requests, contact privacy [at] jassmind [dot] ch.
If you email us, we process your address and the contents you voluntarily send to handle your request. Please avoid unnecessary personal data. Hosting and email providers may process these data for us. Their processing and processing by download providers may take place outside your country.
Stores and operating systems
Apple and Google process purchases, app downloads and updates through their stores under their own privacy policies. Depending on your device and store settings, they may collect usage and diagnostic data and provide us with sales, download, usage or crash reports. This happens independently of any analytics SDK built into JassMind. We receive no payment details through the app and cannot retrieve your local games or chat content.
4. Purposes and legal bases
We process data to provide requested features, answer enquiries and operate the website securely. Where GDPR applies, depending on the purpose we rely on contract or pre-contractual steps (Article 6(1)(b)), legitimate interests in operation, security and handling enquiries (f), legal obligations (c), or consent where required (a). Consent can be withdrawn for future processing. Swiss data protection law remains applicable.
5. Retention and security
Local game data and models remain in app storage until deleted. Android cloud backup and Android device transfer are disabled for this app. On other platforms, your device backup settings may apply. Email correspondence is retained as needed to handle the request, comply with legal retention duties or address legal claims. Technical log retention depends on the relevant provider’s operational and security needs.
We use operating-system private app storage and HTTPS for model downloads. Protect your device with a screen lock and updates. No technical measure guarantees absolute security.
6. Delete data
In Settings you can delete round history and the AI model and clean up download leftovers. Saved games are managed separately. To delete all private app data on Android, use system Settings → Apps → JassMind → Storage → Clear storage, or uninstall the app. This also removes preferences and temporary app files. Original photos in your photo library are not deleted.
On iOS, Delete App removes local app data; Offload App keeps it. Existing device or cloud backups and original photos are not automatically deleted. The large AI model files are excluded from device backups on iOS; other app data is subject to your device backup settings.
There is no JassMind account to delete. We cannot access local game data. For deletion of email correspondence or other privacy requests, contact privacy [at] jassmind [dot] ch. You can remove the website language preference by clearing this website’s browser data.
7. Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction and portability, object to processing, and withdraw consent. You can complain to a competent data protection authority, including the FDPIC in Switzerland. Contact privacy [at] jassmind [dot] ch. Legal exceptions and retention obligations may apply.
8. Advertising, purchases and minors
The app contains no advertising, subscriptions, in-app purchases or real-money wagers. Minors should involve their parent or guardian before sending personal information by email or through the optional report form. Observe the store age rating and the rules of the game you are playing.
9. Changes
We update this policy and its date when data handling changes. Any required additional notices and consent requests will precede the relevant new processing.
