What does your device need?

Core features and optional on-device AI have different requirements. Here is what is currently configured, what we have checked and what remains unverified.
The app without an AI model
- iPhone and iPad: iOS 15 or later.
- Android: Android 7.0 or later (API 24).
These are the configured OS limits, not a guarantee for every older device.
Manual card entry, scorekeeping, practice rounds, quizzes and prepared reference answers need no downloaded AI model. The app also calculates strategy independently of the language model.
A camera is only needed for scanning. You can also enter cards manually or choose a photo. Card recognition runs locally and needs no AI language model.
We have not yet established verified minimum RAM, free storage or CPU performance for the core features.
Optional AI on your device
AI adds explanations and chat. The app checks RAM, storage and supported architecture before offering a model. On Android, this feature needs a supported 64-bit processor.

Free storage includes the model download and a 500 MB reserve; the app itself needs additional space. GB values here are decimal.
These thresholds are a first filter, not a performance guarantee. The app attempts to load and check the model on the device. Available memory and OS limits may still restrict use.
A supported GPU compute backend may help; a CPU fallback is also available. After downloading the model, AI runs offline. Without a compatible model, core features and reference answers remain available.
What we have checked so far
The following checks ran in the iOS Simulator using production screens and sample data. They do not measure the performance of a physical phone.
- iPhone 16e with iOS 27.0: six main areas in portrait in German, English, French and Italian; 24 screens without layout exceptions.
- iPhone Duo with iOS 27.1: outer display in portrait and fully open inner display in landscape in all four languages; 48 validated captures.
Automated tests additionally check navigation, game rules, saved games, changing viewport sizes and folding states. Corresponding checks on physical Android devices remain outstanding.
